Welcome to the Adventure Palace Chronicles and Happy 2021!
We are so excited to begin sharing our story and our adventures with you.
We are Erik and Kim. We are originally from Southern California. Erik is retired law enforcement and Kim is a writer and artist. We closed our life in California and headed East with Georgia on our minds.
Our new life in the Adventure Palace.
The overview is that life in California become extremely stressful. We had always dreamed of traveling in an RV so we jumped off of the merry-go-round and into 400 square feet of bliss.
Maiden voyage was from California to our chosen destination of Georgia. It’s been over 2 years and we’re not done yet.
Our story begins in 2018 when we decided to sell our home in California and move into our brand new Columbus fifth wheel.
In November, we sold our home of 20 years, and moved into our Palace which we parked at nearby beaches, campgrounds and resorts for a couple of months, taking in the beauty of SoCal, while we enjoyed the holidays with our family and planned our daughter’s wedding before leaving our hometown. A sort of staycation, as it were.
From February until April 2019, we towed our new home through California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, New Mexico, Colorado, Oklahoma, Arkansas,Tennessee and finally, Georgia through the winter into the spring.
From the winter beaches and mountains in California, through the frigid deserts of Nevada and Arizona, the snowy mountains of New Mexico and Colorado, the expansive plains and wondrous woods of Oklahoma and Arkansas and the sprouting green beauty of spring in Tennessee and Georgia, please join us as we experience appreciation for life that we never expected. From the beauty of nature, to the impact of learning family history and taking care of each other, we have so much to share.
And we’re not done yet.
After spending 2019 with our kids and our granddaughter and the Quarantine of 2020, we are chomping at the bit to get back out on the road full time in 2021. During our hiatus, we also explored local Georgia and made upgrades to The Palace we’d like to show you. We made new friends with whom we look forward to making memories as the world opens up again.
We look forward to balancing work, life and adventure in the next phase of The Adventure Palace Chronicles. I hope you’ll subscribe to our blog so you don’t miss any of it.
